This eBook is a collection of articles I published over the past year in the series “Protect Your Microsoft 365 Data in the Age of AI.” I brought them together into one practical guide to make it easier to reference and apply the information.
In the book, I explain how to use Microsoft 365, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps to gain visibility and control over sensitive data shared with generative AI platforms, while still enabling employees to work effectively. I focus on a flexible, policy-driven, layered approach that aligns technology with an organization’s governance strategy.
Like my previous eBook, I use a strong visual style to make the concepts easier to understand and apply in practice.
SC-400 Visual Study Guide
When I started studying for the SC-400 exam, I noticed that the available study materials lacked clear, practical examples of how to configure solutions in the Microsoft Purview platform and what the impact would be on end users.
To address this gap, I began creating a visual study guide at the start of 2024. In this guide, I included screenshots and step-by-step explanations of how to configure each solution, with a strong focus on the end-user experience.
Developing the guide helped deepen my understanding of the platform, and I hope it will help others better understand and remember these concepts as well.
Note that the SC-400 exam is deprecated and replaced by exam SC-401, but the information in this eBook can still be used to learn about Purview basics.
